27-10-2008
Scartel, a Mobile WiMAX service provider and owner of Yota brand, announces that the first in the world 4G (GSM+Mobile WiMAX) handset will soon be available in the Russian market.
A few days ago Russian and foreign websites have published information about the new HTC's handset which offers Mobile WiMAX and GSM connectivity, as well as photos of this device carrying Yota's logo on its case. To prevent rumors, Yota announces that it has worked on the creation of the first in the world GSM+Mobile WiMAX handset together with HTC since the beginning of 2008. Inspired by Yota's order, HTC's lab designed a brand new handset model focused on accessing new generation 4G services provided by the Russian Yota Mobile WiMAX network.
Built-in WiMAX radio module as well as other handset's specs (e.g. large hi-res display) assures optimal performance of Yota's services. This includes uncompromised Internet experience, on-the-fly downloading and fine playback of movies, TV broadcasts and music, both online and recorded. Also, the device allows making video calls and watching mobile TV.
Yota chose HTC as a partner in the development of the Mobile WiMAX handset for its leadership in the mobile device market. Mobile devices manufactured by HTC have long ago become recognized market leaders and always excite technophiles. Yota will offer its subscribers a new handset loaded with most of innovative mobile technologies available.
The new handset is scheduled for official release in November. The device will hit the Russian market before the end of this year. Additional information on pricing and availability will be announced later.
