What you need to do
to activate the SIM card
1. Purchase a Yota SIM card
Do this before your arrival or at a Yota point of sale in Russia.
When signing the agreement, we will ask for the IMEI of the device in which you will use the SIM card — this is required for the mobile network service to become active.

2. Issue SNILS (Individual insurance account number)
It will be ready right away, but sometimes it takes up to 5 working days. Contact a MFC Department (Multifunctional Center for Provision of State and Municipal Services), a SFR Department (Social Fund of Russia) or the employer.
You will need:
- • passport and its notarized translation;
- • e-mail to which you have access.

3. Get registered at Gosuslugi
Contact MFC or bank to create an account at Gosuslugi (State Services). SNILS and passport will be required

4. Register your biometrics at a bank
A staff member will take a photo of you and record your voice. You will need to bring your SNILS and passport.
Contact a bank — check in advance if the branch has biometric hardware.
5. Activate the SIM card
To activate your SIM card, please contact your nearest Yota office. Passport required.
